A Little About Agrale Marruá
The Agrale Marruá is a robust and versatile vehicle, widely used by the Brazilian Armed Forces. However, some units end up being purchased by end consumers.
This particular model is a 2017, but remains the current AM200 model with four doors. It is equipped with the Cummins ISB 2.8 engine, which originally generates 150 horsepower and 36,7 kgfm of torque.
Reprogramming and Performance Gains
After our reprogramming in Strike Brasil, we carried out measurements on the dynamometer and the results were impressive: a gain of 41 horsepower and 9 kgfm of torque, totaling 191 horsepower and 45,7 kgfm of torque.
Additionally, we've increased the accelerator pedal sensitivity, a tweak that many owners of vehicles with the same engine, such as the F4000 and F350, have been requesting.
Potential for the End Consumer Market
The Agrale Marruá has a robust and attractive design, which is very reminiscent of the Hummer style. With some improvements in the finishing details, we believe that this vehicle could easily compete with models like the Toyota Hilux.
Finishing Details
Despite its excellent performance and design, the Agrale Marruá has some points that could be improved:
- Door handles: Uses Fiat door handles, which could be replaced by more sophisticated models.
- Defensive Midfielder: The current steering wheel is from Volkswagen, but a more modern and exclusive design would add more value to the vehicle.
- Air Vents: The air vents are generic and could be improved.
- Key: The key is from Fiat, but it could be customized for the Marruá.
Versatility and Applications
This vehicle has reduced traction and a short gear ratio, ideal for off-road use, an essential feature for its military use.
Furthermore, the Agrale Marruá already comes equipped with a winch and 37-inch tires from our partner Maxxis, which, although they increase the effort on the powertrain, make the car even more impressive for difficult terrain.
Price and Accessibility
The value of the Agrale Marruá for the end consumer was around R$197.000 in 2020, but some sources already indicated an increase to R$350.000. In 2024, the time this article was written, the same model, zero kilometer, is already estimated at R$438.000.
This increase may be a strategy to focus exclusively on military tenders. However, we believe that by maintaining a competitive price and correcting small finishing details, the Agrale Marruá could be an excellent option for pickup truck enthusiasts in Brazil.
