If the electronic injection light does not go off on the dashboard There are several problems that could have caused this. There are several sensors in the electronic injection and if one of them is not working correctly, it will warn you by turning on the light on the dashboard.

Electronic injection light

First of all, we need to explain that the name of this sign on the dashboard is not “electronic injection light”. Why? Because this light can come on for different reasons. Therefore, for you driver who saw the “electronic injection light on”, there is no need to panic.

The first impression you may have is that this is a very serious problem, but know that it may not be. This light on the dashboard can come on, for example, due to a simple fault in the trunk lock.

This sign, if you look in your vehicle manual, is called “check engine light”, i.e. check engine light. It can come on due to faults in the engine, gearbox, steering system, ABS, there are cars where even a burnt out bulb can turn this light on. This light then informs the driver that there is an anomaly, not necessarily a serious engine or injection anomaly.

Here we will present what to do when the electronic injection light does not go out on the dashboard and some reasons why this light came on.

What is Electronic Injection

The electronic injection module controls practically the entire car, as if it were a brain, such as the air/fuel mixture that is sent to the engine. To know everything about Electronic injection, and how it works, we recommend that you read our blog on the topic.

Seek professional help

If the electronic injection light does not go out on the dashboard, the best option is to always look for a mechanic or auto repair shop you trust to try to find out the possible problems. The professional goes with a equipment called a Scanner to take a reading of your car's injection system and detect the problem.

Scanner

There are several Scanner devices on the market that are devices that will be connected to your car, communicate with the electronic injection module, read the defects, erase the error code present and correct certain faults by carrying out some adaptive procedures that are present in the car.

There is equipment that will perform a more general reading, will quickly read the car. There are also more modern and specific devices.

We already have specific national equipment on the market that will adapt the exchange rate, among other corrections, in addition to having other specific devices for a given need. Equipment for the imported car line and also other more generic equipment that will perform an initial reading, erase the defect code and final read what is happening with your car's electronic injection.

In most vehicles, the diagnostic socket (OBD2) is usually located near the steering wheel, at the bottom, close to the driver's legs. With the cables connected, the scanner communicates with the reading of the defect it is presenting in the injection. After identifying the problems highlighted by the scanner, it is time to make the necessary corrections, erasing the memory and seeing if the defect is sporadic or if it continues to be present in the car.

We emphasize that it is best to always look for a trusted mechanic to carry out the necessary repairs on your car.

Turn off electronic injection light manually

It is possible that on some vehicles, the Check – electronic injection light, turns off automatically after the car is started and stopped three times in a row, without starting the engine. This way the car itself erases the error codes that were causing the initial light on error.

This can happen because the control unit is always monitoring itself, so it can identify that there was a small fault and shortly afterwards this fault works correctly again, so the control unit identifies that there is no longer an error and turns off the light on the panel.

To do this, just put the key in the ignition, turn it on for about 1s (one second) and then turn it off for 1s (one second) as well. Do this operation three times and then start the car normally. Check if it worked and if your car engine is working normally.

Erasing alone

Before you despair of what to do, know that sometimes the light can go out on its own. It's not for you to ignore it forever and not go and check it, remember, the car needs care and maintenance. In more modern cars, the on-board computer itself will check again what problem caused the light to come on. Drive your vehicle normally if after two or three days the electronic injection light does not go out on the panel, then it's time to take it to a trusted mechanic, because the problem has not been resolved or the error is still in the memory of your ECU.

What can it be?

There are many reasons why the electronic injection light does not go out on the dashboard. That's why we always recommend the help of a professional who, regardless of the reason the light is on, after reading and identifying the problem, he will be able to solve it for you.

It is possible that it is a problem with the lambda probe, which is located in a very strategic position in your vehicle, between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter, and is a sensor that reads the exhaust gases. It could also be a problem with another component of the exhaust system, such as the catalytic converter, for example.

The engine power system can also be the cause of the electronic injection light coming on and not going off on the dashboard. For example, spark plug wires, injection nozzles, spark plugs, coils, are all components that can leave the light on or flashing. The sensors may have poor contact and may also cause the electronic injection light to come on.

Electronic injection light does not go out on the dashboard, there are several errors that can cause this

Error removal via reprogramming

Some fault codes generated by vehicle problems can be repaired via reprogramming, such as an electronic injection light that does not go out on the dashboard, EGR valve failures, DPF system problems, failures after removing the catalyst, auxiliary water pump (Amarok), among others.

It's an excellent service offered by Strike Brasil in a country where the mechanical workforce is still unprepared to deal with such defects. We are a reference in solving these problems, definitively. Contact Us to receive a quote directly on your WhatsApp.
