For more than 15 years, the Brazilian market lagged when it came to the Volkswagen Golf. In 2013 this changed with Volkswagen's announcement of the launch of the Golf GTI MK7, just four months after its launch in Europe. Quite an advance for Brazil, which was still stuck in the fourth generation of Golf. 

One of the most desired sports cars for years, the Golf MK7 is an extremely fast car, with a lot of torque and, best of all, with great performance results. ECU reprogramming (remap). The remap market has improved over time and the Golf MK7 is one of the vehicles with excellent earnings performance. 

Unlike what was published by Volkswagen, this vehicle originally has around 260 hp measured on a dynamometer, thus generating up to around 350 hp after reprogramming.  

Golf GTI MK7: ECU Reprogramming Results

Seeking greater presence and effectiveness in the line of premium gasoline/flex vehicles, we have been measuring on a dynamometer and developing some additional features for our reprogramming for the vehicle. VW Golf GTI MK7.

In this case, we took the vehicle already reprogrammed by a renowned competitor company, with its software STAGE 2 exclusive to Podium gasoline. 

As the client's main objective was to reprogram it for the use of regular gasoline, we first checked the vehicle in the condition in which it arrived. Afterwards, we tested our software with our standard parameters. STAGE 1 and we have already achieved a considerable improvement compared to the competitor! We took advantage of the opportunity and returned to the original software for measurement and comparison, the results are below.

Viewer discretion: All measurements were made using Podium gasoline, however our software allows the use of regular gasoline. The vehicle has some modifications such as: stainless steel downpipe, full stainless steel exhaust without mufflers and carbon APR intake.

In addition to greater power and allowing the use of regular gasoline, the gear torque control, which allows greater traction at starts, and the popcorns with backfire.

Correction factor

The dynamometer Correction Factor is a tool for use in aspirated cars to correct power differences due to the altitude of the test site city.

On turbo vehicles, this correction is not necessary. Therefore, turbo vehicles should not be measured using the Correction Factor, but most competitors continue to advertise this way.
