In this article we will show another work by STK Customs, restoration team of Strike Brasil, a respectable work in the iconic 250 Ford F-1988, a model dualtone with a naturally aspirated engine, which was once synonymous with strength and reliability.
For this project, every detail was carefully restored to maintain its originality, while still adding a touch of modernity.
Classic Color and Dualtone Style
The color choice followed the classic American Ford F-250 pattern, with a unique pearlescent blue tone that alternates between navy and grayish blue, depending on the light. The white, which complements the design, is reminiscent of old cars, reinforcing the look. dualtone characteristic of the model XLT Lariat. This pattern is not only aesthetic, but cultural, a true signature of the 80s models.
Navistar 7.3L V8 Diesel Engine: A 190 HP Monster
Under the hood, you'll find the robust engine! This engine, manufactured by Navistar International after the acquisition of International Harvester, was designed with indirect injection and a preheating system, ensuring reliable performance even on the coldest days.
Original Design and Accessories: Respect for the Original Project
STK Customs took great care to restore every detail of the truck. From the chrome around the windshield and fenders, to the original taillights and mirrors, every element was faithfully restored. To complete the rugged and classic look, the vehicle received a 4,5-inch suspension kit, allowing the installation of Maxxis Razr 37/12.5 tires.
Project Curiosities
Some features make this F-250 unique and special. It has two fuel tanks and a STK stainless steel direct exhaust, which highlights the unmistakable sound of the V8 engine. Another highlight is the three-speed automatic transmission system, model C6, which has been widely recognized for its durability and reliability.
Modern Interior and Comfort
The truck's interior has been restored to preserve its originality as much as possible, with a few touches of comfort. The manual windows have been replaced with electric ones, quality speakers have been installed in the doors and a subwoofer has been discreetly added behind the seat.
In respect of the 1988 project, the original upholstery was preserved as much as possible, even using the upholstery fabric itself in hidden areas to cover imperfections.
Technology and Security of the Past
Interestingly, the 250 Ford F-1988 has two key systems, one for the ignition and one for the doors, a feature that was intended to make theft more difficult. In addition, the preheating system “Wait to Start” causes the engine to wait for the cylinder to warm up before injecting fuel, essential for engines with indirect injection.
Ready for the Roads
The 250 Ford F-1988 restored by STK Customs was completed, and the Strike Brasil still has other equally exciting projects in the works. Soon, new model restorations will be available for entusiastas.
